Blessed be you Source of Divine Fatherliness
for trusting my travelling, yet keeping me as the apple of your eye
whatever troubles fall across my path.
Smile on me as I set out this day.
Father of our prodigal ways,
your generous spirit longs for our freedom.
Be the wisdom in my decisions as I choose how to spend this day.
May the wildness of my desires make me creative in my hands and heart.
Protect me from squandering my wildness,
until my hands are empty and my heart desperate.
Be the no-waste love when my wandering seems fruitless,
for with you nothing is futile and you see beyond the day.
Be the homing Spirit within that I might not become lost to myself.
Be the courage I need to turn around when I have been foolish.
And be the Father who sees me when I am still far off,
who does not wait till I get to the door but runs to meet me
with warm open arms, falling on my neck wet with tears.
Generous Father, be the homecoming of my story
in this day, and at my journey’s end.
May Father God above me
bless me with a child-like trust simple and true.
May Grandfather Spirit within me
bless me with an old wise love that earths and chuckles
and does not cease exploring.
May the Generative Presence around me
bless me with awe and wonder at the force of life in this world
as if seeing with the eyes of a child this day.
